One thing I like most about Toy Fair is seeing brand new doll lines from companies that are just starting up. Naturally Perfect Dolls is one of those brands. Founded by Jason and Angelica Sweeting, the line fills a gap in today’s doll market. The idea came about when their daughter was upset that she didn’t have long, straight hair like her dolls and the ones advertised on television and in stores. The Sweeting’s set out to change that. After unsuccessfully finding a doll that looked like their daughter, they decided to make their own doll line. They launched a kickstarter in 2015 and earned a whopping $84,000 to produce this line of 18″ dolls.
The unique selling point of Naturally Perfect Dolls is that they have curly hair you can style and wash again and again. They also have sculpts that relate more closely to those with darker skin than other brands that use the same sculpt for all skin tones.
There are four characters in the line so far: Angelica, Brielle, Camryn and Kennedy. My favorite is Kennedy. I love her larger than life curls and adorable freckles. Brielle is also a fun one with tighter curls and much darker skin than the others girls. All four girls are pictured below.
This is Angelica. Below her is Brielle.
My favorite, as I mentioned, is Kennedy.
And finally, meet Camryn.
My Flickr Album features close up shots of their pretty faces. All four dolls are available for pre-order on the official website. You can follow the line on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. (Also, this seems like a great time to point out that I, personally, do not have an Instagram account. If you are following someone with my name, it’s not me.)
